Workplace First Aid Training

We have the experience and the equipment to provide first aid training on-site at your workplace.  For groups from 3 up to a maximum of 12 we can train and certify your employees at your convenience and in your place of business.  Instruction is hands-on and interactive and is supported by a variety of training materials, including CPR mannequins, AED trainers, bandages and splinting materials, barrier devices, auto-injector trainers, inhalers, and more.

Basic First Aid

Previously known as WorksafeBC OFA Level 1  hands-on and interactive one day course teaches workers how to deal with the most common occupational first-aid emergencies. At the end of this course the successful candidate will be a WorkSafeBC Basic First Aid (OFA Level 1) First-Aid Attendant.

Basic First Aid certification is suitable for a variety of jobs, and is a great addition to your resume if you’re looking for work.  Applicant must be able to understand and perform the first aid skills required to complete the learning tasks. No previous first aid training is required. Certification is valid for three years from the date of completion of the Basic training course. To renew a Basic First Aid certificate a candidate must successfully retake the basic course.

Intermediate First Aid (Formerly Level 2)

WorksafeBC Level 2 Equivalent.

Intermediate First Aid is a 16-hour (2 day) first aid course primarily designed for the first aid attendant whose workplace is low risk or within 20 minutes of a hospital and/or is applicable whenever the WorkSafeBC Regulations require Intermediate certification.

Intermediate First Aid covers the basics of airway, breathing and circulation which includes how to deal with obstructed airways, breathing distress, bleeding control, Shock and one person CPR. In addition, patient assessment, upper limb splinting and minor wound care are covered.

This course is meant for: First Aid Attendants, police, first responders, lifeguards, ski patrol and caring citizens.

Transportation Endorsement

Transportation Endorsement

This one-day (8 hour) course prepares Basic previous Level 1 (or equivalent) and Intermediate previous Level 2 (or equivalent) first aid attendants with the skills and knowledge needed to transport injured or ill workers to medical aid. Participants are required to perform spinal immobilization and patient transport skills as outlined in the WorkSafeBC OFA Transportation Endorsement Instructor Guide and Training Manual.

Prerequisites:

Must be age 16 or older, present a valid government issued photo ID and a current Basic Level (1) or Intermediate (2) certificate in order to receive certification after successful completion of the course.
